Another game on the road in the SFAI Sketchers Cup for our Under 12 Premier team today saw them in Middleton in Cork for their semi-final tie against the local side at their very impressive complex at Knockgriffin Park.
A headed goal early in the second half from Daniel Bergin and two excellent saves from goalkeeper David Leonard - one in each half - were the SKB highlights in a game that was short on quality but had work rate and determination in abundance and where the strong breeze made it difficult for both teams to play. Daniel had brought an excellent save from the home goalkeeper in the first half where we also had two goals disallowed for what must have been the tightest of offside calls.
In the end it was a deserved win and they have reached the final next month having played every round away from home.
Well done to all the squad and the management team.
Next weekend our 13's 14's and 16's are hoping to join the 12's on the SFAI finals weekend when they play at home to Evergreen Middleton and Villa FC respectively in St Aidan's - the 13's & 14's on Saturday and the 16's on Sunday
