UNDER 14's WIN THUNDER CUP BUT NO JOY FOR 11's 12's OR 13's
Home > News > UNDER 14's WIN THUNDER CUP BUT NO JOY FOR 11's 12's OR 13's

Our under 12's will be looking for swift compensation in next week’s SFAI Cup final away in Limerick to Pike Rovers following their first defeat of the season at the hands of Shamrock Rovers in today’s DDSL Tom Kavanagh Cup final at the AUL Complex.

A single goal seperated the sides - a header from Josh O'Dwyer - in a typical close final and as is often the case the team to score first usually holding on to take the title, They are back in the AUL Complex on Tuesday night looking to earn a further three points that will take them closer to the premier league title before next week’s SFAI final in Limerick.

The Thunder Cup is back in Whitehall for the first time since 2019 after our under 14 Inter side saw off Corduff FC on a 4-1 scoreline.

Paddy Brides, Chris Idah (2) and Samuel Rooney scored the SKB goals while Jack Scott replied for Corduff  FC.

The Thunder Cup is one of the DDSL's premier competitions and the boys will be seeking to add the national title to this win next Sunday back in the AUL Complex against Shamrock Rovers as well as trying to get more league points on the board in mid-week against Lucan United.

We competed for another famous cup today also - the Liam Brady Cup - but a very good Belvedere FC side proved too strong for our under 13 Inter side winning 3-0 with the decisive strikes coming in the last minute of the first half and the first minute of the second.

The great run of our 11A1 Sunday team came to a halt in the final of the DDSL Fitzgerald Cup but this setback should in no way take away from the great achievement of the group coming from the B League at the start of the season gaining promotion to the A1 at Christmas and contesting the A final.  Well done to all the players and managers on a great season.
