On Saturday next at 2pm in Home Farm FC, our under 18 premier squad will attempt to do what no other SKFC team have done in the clubs 65 year history - and that is win the FAI Youth Cup - the only trophy in schoolboy football that has eluded us over the years.
Pike Rovers will provide stern opposition in what is our fourth final appearance - having lost the other three by a single goal on each occasion.
They have reached the final after six games of the competition with wins over Dalkey United, Malahide United, Leicester Celtic, Killorglin FC (Kerry), Bridge United (Clare), and Douglas Hall (Cork) in the semi final after an 11 -10 penalty shoot out.
As a squad, both players and management will be anxious to go one better than last season when they lost in the final of the FAI under 17 Cup final by the only goal of the game against Cherry Orchard.
We are hoping for a good turn out of support for the game from all club members, and hopefully, the long wait will be over.
Good luck to all.
