Our Under 15 DDSL Elite team qualified for the final of the SFAI Sketchers Evans Cup this afternoon when they beat league rivals Cherry Orchard 1-0 in an excellent semi-final at Shanowen Road.
One goal was probably always just going to be enough to win this game just as it was last year when the two sides met in an earlier round of the National Cup with the Orchard prevailing on that occasion.
In a game of few clear cut chances the better ones fell to the home side with the vital breaktrough coming fourteen minutes into the second half with a Jack Kelly strike into the top corner.
Overall SKB proved to be the better side on the day with the whole team producing an all round team performance that was needed to overcome a strong Orchard side and reach the final where Athlone Town will provide the opposition.
