END OF AN ERA
The end of an era tonight at Shanowen Road as our 1st team played their last game in the Athletic Union League and it was a fitting way to end - drawing 2-2 against five times champions and current FAI Junior Cup holders Sherriff YC.
Sherriff went ahead against the run of play on the half hour mark but Brian Conway equalised just on half time, Keith Rooney scored what appeared was going to be the winner in the 70th minute until Sherriff snatched an equaliser in injury time.
The end of an era no doubt - full of memories - some good some not so good but a new one beckons in August when we make our debut in the Leinster Senior League and hopefully our players and management will go on to make their own mark there in the years ahead.
