SKB qualified for the semi-final of the Leinster Youths Cup in a thrilling quarter final tie against Wexford Youths played in tough conditions at St Aidans.
Playing with a near gale force breeze in the first half the home side went ahead after seven minutes when Mark O'Connor scored from close range but throughout the first half it was Wexford who had the better chances some of which they wasted while goalkeeper Mark Byrne made some smart saves when called upon.
Wexford equalised eighteen minutes into the second half when a free kick from distance deceived the home defence and ended up in the net, they were soon in front and looked set for victory but a header from a corner by Mark Powell brought the sides level again.Wexford again went in front for the second time when a corner wasn't cleared properly but again the home side came back in storming fashion in the last ten minutes with an excellent strike from Levi Boardman to square things up again before Sean Cummins scored what proved to be the winner with three minutes left on the clock.
Wexford piled on the pressure in the remaining minutes and injury time but Jamie Delaney and the SKB defence held out to record a dramatic win in a game that was a credit to both teams who overcame the conditions to produce an excellent and exciting game.
